ABOUT US Why a New Ink?

“Colour is my day-long obsession, joy and torment.”

Claude Monet

Contacts

The development of a versatile ink base was prompted by a physical reaction to the years of exposure to solvents and odors in a closed studio environment. I wanted an ink that would not cause health issue. I wanted an ink that handled and dried like the inks I was used to working with. And, I wanted an ink that could mimic the beauty and luminosity of the Japanese woodblocks.

The Inks have evolved over the past decade into a reliable and versatile printing ink for hand prints. As well as being low odor, the walnut oil base for the ink is non-yellowing which means those subtle blues in a print will not change color, a natural reaction of commercially refined linseed oil.
